放学时下起雨，小熊站在屋檐下，望着湿漉漉的小路发愁。

小兔正好带着两把伞。小熊问：“那把红雨伞，可以借我用一下吗？”

Rabbit happened to have two umbrellas. “May I borrow the red one?” Bear asked.

“可以，明天放学还给我。”小兔递过伞，小熊认真点点头。

“Yes. Please return it after school tomorrow,” said Rabbit. Bear nodded carefully.

红雨伞撑开了，雨点在伞面上跳。小熊走得慢慢的，避开路边的树枝。

The red umbrella opened, and raindrops danced on top. Bear walked slowly, keeping clear of branches.

回到家，他把伞放在门边的接水盘里，等雨水滴干。

At home he placed the umbrella in a drip tray by the door so the water could drain away.

第二天太阳出来了。小熊出门时看见小鸟，一高兴就忘了拿伞。

The next morning was sunny. Bear spotted a bird as he left and forgot to take the umbrella.

放学后，小熊急着去玩积木，把答应小兔的事忘到了脑后。

After school Bear hurried off to play with blocks, forgetting his promise to Rabbit.

小兔等了一会儿，没有见到小熊，便决定第二天去问问。

Rabbit waited for a while, but Bear did not come. She decided to ask him the next day.

第三天，小兔准备和妈妈出门，来敲小熊家的门：“我的红雨伞呢？”

On the third day Rabbit came to Bear’s door before an outing. “Where is my red umbrella?”

小熊愣了一下，连忙跑到门后。伞还在那里，他的脸却热起来了。

Bear froze, then hurried behind the door. The umbrella was still there, and his cheeks felt hot.

“对不起，我答应昨天还，却忘了。”小熊抱着伞，认真地说。

“I’m sorry. I promised to return it yesterday, but I forgot,” Bear said sincerely, holding it close.

小兔说：“我今天想用它，下次不能让我一直等呀。”

“I wanted to use it today,” Rabbit said. “Please don’t leave me waiting next time.”

小熊打开伞检查，发现伞边沾了一点泥：“我擦干净，马上送到你家。”

Bear opened it to check and saw a little mud along the edge. “I’ll clean it and bring it straight to your house.”

小兔看看天：“我们晚一点出门，你午饭前送来就好。”两人重新约定了时间。

Rabbit looked at the sky. “We’re leaving later. Please bring it before lunch.” They agreed on a new time.

妈妈拿来软布，小熊轻轻擦掉泥点，再把伞撑在通风的地方晾干。

Mother brought a soft cloth. Bear gently wiped off the mud and left the umbrella open in an airy spot to dry.

等伞干了，他收拢伞面、扣好伞带，检查伞柄有没有松动。

Once it was dry, he folded it, fastened the strap, and checked the handle.

午饭前，小熊把红雨伞送回小兔手里：“谢谢你借给我，也对不起让你等了。”

Before lunch Bear returned the umbrella. “Thank you for lending it to me, and I’m sorry I kept you waiting.”

回家后，他画了一张借物提醒卡：借了什么，答应什么时候还。

At home he made a borrowing reminder card: what he had borrowed and when he had promised to return it.

后来，小熊想借小兔的放大镜。他先问用途和归还时间，听清楚才拿走。

Later Bear asked to borrow Rabbit’s magnifying glass, explaining his plan and agreeing on a return time before taking it.

那天傍晚，放大镜准时回到原处。小熊明白，信任要靠一次次守约来照顾。

That evening the magnifying glass was back where it belonged. Bear understood that trust grows through keeping promises.

借东西要先征得同意，爱惜使用、按时归还；忘记了就主动道歉并补救。

Ask before borrowing, take care of what you borrow, return it on time, and put things right if you forget.
