Mom explained, “An electric car stores electrical energy in its battery. The battery is like a little energy warehouse, but an adult must handle charging.”

车子沿城市道路来到充电站。安安找到第一个观察点：这里有四个充电车位，每个车位都有清楚的安全线。

The car followed city streets to a charging station. An'an found her first thing to look for: four charging bays, each with a clear safety line.

妈妈把车停在车位中央，关好电源。安安站在安全线后，只用眼睛观察，不碰充电桩、插头和电缆。

Mom centered the car in a bay and switched it off. An'an stayed behind the safety line, watching without touching the charger, plug, or cable.

妈妈拿起充电连接器，检查外壳和插口没有异常，再把它插进车上的接口。听见“咔哒”，连接器锁住了。

Mom checked the connector and socket for anything unusual, then plugged it into the car. A soft click meant the connector had locked in place.

充电开始了。安安看到指示灯一格一格亮起，妈妈解释：“电能沿着电缆进入电池，变成可以储存的能量。”

Charging began. An'an watched the indicator glow one step at a time. Mom explained, “Electrical energy travels through the cable into the battery, where it becomes stored energy.”

安安找到第二个观察点：充电桩上有三个小指示灯，颜色和节奏会变化。她坐在休息区数灯光，耐心等候。

An'an found a second thing to look for: three little indicator lights on the charger changed color and rhythm. She counted them from the waiting area and practiced patience.

妈妈说，充电快慢会受电池电量、充电设备和天气温度影响。电池需要被细心管理，不能一下子塞满能量。

Mom said charging speed depends on the battery level, the equipment, and the temperature. The battery is managed carefully; energy cannot simply be pushed in all at once.

安安问：“电动汽车是不是一点影响也没有？”妈妈摇摇头：“行驶时没有尾气排出，但发电、电池材料和轮胎磨损也会用资源。”

“Does an electric car have no impact at all?” An'an asked. Mom shook her head. “It has no tailpipe exhaust while driving, but making electricity and batteries, and wearing tires, still uses resources.”

妈妈说：“所以我们少浪费电，按需要出行，也爱护电池和轮胎。”安安点头，把这句话记在心里。

Mom said, “So we avoid wasting electricity, travel when we need to, and take care of the battery and tires.” An'an nodded and remembered.

电量够走到图书馆后，妈妈先停止充电，再拔下连接器、挂回原位。安安仍站在安全线后，等妈妈关好接口。

When there was enough energy to reach the library, Mom stopped the session, unplugged the connector, and returned it to its holder. An'an stayed behind the safety line until Mom closed the port.

车子安静地驶向图书馆。安安说：“电池装好了能量，安全充电、少浪费，才能走得更远。”她和妈妈开始了阅读之旅。

The car quietly drove to the library. “The battery has stored its energy,” An'an said. “Safe charging and less waste help us travel wisely.” She and Mom began their reading adventure.

电动汽车在充电站补充电能；成人负责操作，孩子保持距离，并记得电动车并不是对环境完全没有影响。

An electric car receives energy at a charging station. Adults operate the equipment, children keep a safe distance, and an electric car still has an environmental footprint.
